While on a cross country road trip in 2009, I stopped to take pictures of some vintage Route 66 motels in Selig-man, Arizona. I got out of my truck, placed the Supai Motel sign square in my viewfinder, and fell in love.
Some people might just see a sign, but I saw a piece of art with history and a gorgeous sense of style. In that very first frame, Retro Roadside Photography was born.
Since that day I have traveled more than 100,000 miles chasing neon to document a disappearing culture. With each of my photographs I aspire to increase awareness, appreciation and preservation of these iconic places.
For the vintage signs, fiberglass giants and small road trip era businesses that are now gone, I hope my work stands as a testament to their beauty and a reminder of what has been lost. I truly believes vintage is here to stay, and it is my passion to save our history that drives Retro Roadside Photography ever forward.
