The Buellton Vintage Trailer Bash 2024 was an unforgettable weekend filled with fun, creativity, and community spirit. Held at Flying Flags in Buellton, California, this year’s event embraced a lively steampunk theme. From the moment participants rolled in, the campground buzzed with excitement.
One of the weekend’s highlights was the Saturday Open House and Classic Car Cruise-In, where the public could stroll through the campground and admire the beautifully restored trailers and classic cars from before 1976. The event wasn’t just about showing off trailers and cars—it was also packed with activities. Craft sessions included steampunk hat decorating, rock painting, and a steampunk sculpture contest. Each craft brought out the campers’ creativity, with plenty of fun for everyone. For the early birds, coffee klatches brought folks together to start the day on a high note. There was also a Dutch oven cooking class, where attendees learned the basics of preparing delicious meals over an open flame.
Food and drink were plentiful throughout the weekend. Hot dogs, lemonade, mimosas, and appetizers were served at various sites, and the potluck appetizer party was a hit. The fun didn’t stop there, as the vintage fashion show drew big crowds, with participants strutting their stuff in steampunk outfits, mid-century attire, and even a David Neel look-alike category.
Saturday night was a blast. Hundreds of campers were in their Wild West steampunk costumes, and the vintage trailer-lined Prevost Street was alive with the energy of a Western pop-up town. Many of the campers on the street hosted games and activities at their sites, adding to the party atmosphere. Some handed out refreshments or hosted photo booths; we even had a fire-breather!
There was something for everyone, From bike parades and candy scrambles to live music and ice cream. Vintage trailer enthusiasts will be talking about this rally for years to come, and plans for the 2025 Bash are already in the works. Please take a look at all of our upcoming Trailerfest Rallies.
