Why didn’t they build them like this at the factory?

1963 Shasta Compact

Franie Sanford’s 1963 Shasta Compact trailer is unmistakable with its uniquely hinged rear door. Similar to a teardrop-style trailer, the entire back end of this tiny trailer opens to reveal the traditionally restored interior of this glamper. This fair weather feature gives Franie much more space to spread out her collectibles and entertain friends while social distancing at her campsite. This fun-ctional design begs the question, “Why didn’t they build them like this at the factory?”
