This 1962 Shasta Airflyte came to Retromodern Campers from Brent and Rebecca Grayson of Charlotte, North Carolina. The trailer was all original, but it had seen better days. The paint was worn, the interior was weathered, and the iconic Shasta wings had been ripped off. It was clear she was ready for a full makeover.

The Graysons had a fresh vision for the camper: transform it into a wine and craft beer bar for weddings and event rentals. With a farmhouse theme in mind, the work began.
One of the biggest changes was cutting a 7-foot serving window into the side of the trailer. To support the new opening and the rooftop air conditioning unit, the walls and roof were reinforced with steel tubing, keeping the structure solid whether the window is open or closed.

Inside, the trailer received a clean, modern farmhouse look. A dark Marmoleum floor in Cliffs of Moher pairs beautifully with Wilsonart Morris Oak laminate, white walls, and bright cabinetry. A built-in ice bin, kegerator, and flat-top cooler were added to keep the drinks flowing, while the rooftop AC keeps the work area comfortable during events.
The exterior was finished in a classic white and almond paint scheme that honors the original Shasta stripe. Custom-made silver wings were added as the perfect finishing touch, bringing back one of the trailer’s most recognizable features.

Now known as the Silver Winged Travel Bar, this 1962 Shasta Airflyte is ready for a new life of weddings, parties, and special events. The Graysons are excited to begin renting out their one-of-a-kind mobile bar, and Retromodern Campers is proud to have brought their vision to life.
