I grew up surrounded by antiques, thanks to parents who have always had a passion for all things vintage. My dad especially loves Volkswagen campers—he’s owned several over the years. While I admire vintage VWs, my heart has always been pulled toward vintage camper trailers.

Last year, while my husband was in school, my parents graciously offered to help me take on a restoration project of my own. I found a 1977 Serro Scotty Sportsman, and together we began the slow but rewarding process of bringing it back to life.

My husband and I can’t wait for the day when we finally get to camp in this little trailer, but for now, I’m savoring the restoration journey. With seven kids in our family, my parents dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to helping each of us however they can. The time they’ve invested in this project with me is something I truly cherish. This camper has already given us so many meaningful memories—and we haven’t even taken it on the road yet.
