Rolling Vintage: From Step Van to Stylish Stay

Brent and Sherrie Mills know how to roll—literally. Their setup features a gleaming 1957 Olson Kurbside step van towing a charming 1967 Aloha trailer, and together, they make a show-stopping vintage combo.

Sherrie has always had a knack for spotting vintage treasures, so when she came across the Aloha trailer for sale, she didn’t hesitate to make the call. When they arrived to check it out, another family was already giving the trailer a close look. Luckily, the other buyers passed, and the Mills scooped it up and towed their new project home.

Although Sherrie says the trailer is always a work in progress, they had it campable within six months. In a bit of vintage serendipity, Sherrie connected with another Aloha owner and arranged a stove swap—trading her avocado green stove top and oven front for the turquoise set now featured in their trailer. She’s taken the lead on decorating the interior, adding her signature flair, while Brent has focused on polishing the exterior and handling all the behind-the-scenes mechanical work that vintage trailers demand.

Their story didn’t stop with the trailer. In August 2015, the Mills added a 1957 Olson Kurbside step van to their vintage fleet. Brent got it running and roadworthy—with a little help from Sherrie (and her 1960 Bel Air, whose engine now powers the step van). Once the van was up and running, Brent spent countless hours polishing the aluminum body and perfecting every detail.

The result? A unique, head-turning tow vehicle and toy hauler that carries their vintage motorcycles and perfectly complements their retro trailer lifestyle. Together, Brent and Sherrie have built a rolling tribute to vintage craftsmanship, creativity, and teamwork.
