Old School Loo

If you are having an outdoor wedding or party and love old trailers, you have probably considered having a photo booth, or maybe a trailer that is converted into a bar serving your guests. Vintage trailers appeal to many people and are a fun platform for a small mobile business. Coffee, Snow Cones and Pies have all been known to be served from a converted canned ham, but you have likely not seen anything like this before…

Donald Frankenfield of RV WORX dreamed up the Old School Loo as the obvious addition to outdoor events in the Greencastle, PA area. The crew started by gutting the 1968 Beeline that was once somebodies weekend getaway camper. Converting it to a public restroom would require a total rebuild including some creative planning and more plumbing than any other vintage trailer I have ever seen.
100 gallons of holding tank capacity and a 42-gallon fresh water holding tank manage the liquids. A Suburban gas and electric water heater and a water pump and a converter enable the unit to be used with or without hookups. À 30-amp connection can use shore power if available. A Coleman rooftop heat pump provides both AC and heat for a comfortable “user” experience.

The Loo has two ladies’ stalls with Dometic porcelain toilets and a single men’s stall with a urinal. Motion detector faucets and stainless-steel sink bowls are offered in two separate vanities. LED lighting was used to create a bright inviting space. Plans are to add a custom-made awning to provide a covered “Waiting Room” area. I’m sure something this neat will have people waiting just to see the inside of this exceptional outhouse on wheels.
