Stephanie Towle of Augusta, Maine is the proud owner of three vintage trailers: a 1965 Trailblazer, a 1968 Scotty Hilander, and her beautifully restored 1964 Shasta 16-SC, affectionately named “Wine-Down.”

Restoring the Shasta was an 11-month journey. Stephanie hired skilled craftspeople to bring her vision to life. A cabinetmaker who specializes in restoring historic homes handled the carpentry, while another carpenter—also a vintage camper owner—polished and resealed all the windows. A painter gave the exterior a fresh look and even refinished the stove and refrigerator. Stephanie herself took on the task of sanding and re-staining all the interior woodwork. Custom curtains, professional upholstery, and a show-stopping pink floor imported from Europe completed the transformation.

When it comes to camping, Stephanie’s favorite spot is Shore Hills Campground in Boothbay, Maine, though she also enjoys exploring New Hampshire and Massachusetts. This past season alone, she camped 14 times and attended three rallies. One of those is extra special—she helps host and organize the Vintage Camper Jamboree every June at Shore Hills. The weekend features live bands, karaoke, a lobster bake, and an open house of vintage trailers.

Outside of her vintage camper adventures, Stephanie works full-time as a Dental Hygienist. With a four-day work week, she makes plenty of time to hit the road with her two camping companions—Sophi and Murphy, her small dogs who love the vintage trailer life just as much as she does.
