A Palace on Wheels — The 1948 Spartan Manor

The Spartan Manor is often called the Cadillac of trailers, and Hollywood Vintage Trailers’ 1948 restoration proves why. With its sleek, aircraft-inspired body and impressive length, this Spartan was already an icon of postwar design. Randy Gomez and his team have elevated it into something truly extraordinary.

One of the standout features of this particular Spartan Manor is the rear entry door on the passenger side of the trailer. A unique custom twist not original to Spartan Manor trailers. Originally built by the Spartan Aircraft Company after World War II, Spartans embodied the aviation-to-recreation design shift of the time. Randy has honored that history while giving the Manor a completely modernized interior.

Inside, guests are welcomed into a spacious floor plan that feels more like a stylish apartment than a travel trailer. Rich birch paneling and hand-fitted cabinetry set the tone, while the kitchen blends restored vintage appliances with modern amenities. Every surface, curve, and fixture is carefully crafted to capture the spirit of the late 1940s while meeting today’s expectations for comfort.

This Spartan Manor isn’t just a trailer—it’s a showpiece. Many of Hollywood Vintage Trailers’ clients use these restorations as guest houses, private offices, or luxury retreats. The Manor’s elegance, combined with its aviation heritage, makes it an irresistible statement piece for anyone who appreciates both history and design.
