This 1950 Spartanette Tandem 30-foot travel trailer is a well-preserved survivor that has been part of a private collection for more than 21 years and is now For Sale. The current owner is only the second owner, having purchased it directly from the original family in eastern Tennessee.
Unlike many vintage trailers that have undergone extensive restoration, this Spartanette retains approximately 98% of its original birch interior, along with many original fixtures, finishes, and factory features.
The trailer has several uncommon factory options, including a brass mechanical doorbell, an upgraded 9-cubic-foot Frigidaire refrigerator, a floor-to-ceiling canned food pantry, a curved kitchen appliance garage, and an all-white enamel kitchen sink with an integrated drainboard. The rear bedroom features a double bed and built-in vanity, while the original wet bath includes white enamel fixtures.
Many original components remain functional, including the Dixie stove, Frigidaire refrigerator, window hardware, door handles, and ventilation fans. Modern improvements include 30-amp electrical service, a roof air conditioner, an electric tongue jack, and an updated sewer connection. Custom Martis awnings and a weight-distribution hitch are also included.
The exterior retains its original aluminum construction and enclosed belly pan, with a silver automotive paint finish applied approximately 15 years ago.
As an original survivor, the trailer does have some items requiring attention. The tires are older, the brakes are currently disconnected, and a previously leaking rear window caused some interior panel damage. A replacement window frame is included. Additional minor repairs and bathroom maintenance are also recommended.
The Spartanette has a clear Florida title and is located near Panama City, Florida, where it can be viewed by appointment.
