If there’s one place where polished chrome, classic styling, and pure nostalgia collide, it’s the LA Roadster Show at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. Widely regarded as one of the largest and most respected hot rod shows in the country, the event draws thousands of enthusiasts each year, along with some of the finest traditional roadsters, customs, and period-correct builds you’ll see anywhere.

This year, the show had an extra dose of vintage charm thanks to a group of friends known as the Vintage Shasta Trailer Gang, who brought their beautifully restored trailers into the mix. Nestled among the hot rods, their iconic Shastas turned plenty of heads.
Finished in eye-catching green and yellow with metalflake accents, the trailers were perfectly paired with equally stunning, era-appropriate tow vehicles. The combination created a rolling time capsule—proof that vintage trailers and classic cars don’t just coexist, they elevate each other. For many visitors, the trailers were an unexpected highlight and a reminder that road trips and car culture have always gone hand in hand.

Where Trailers and Car Shows Go Together
The pairing of vintage trailers and classic cars isn’t unique to the LA Roadster Show. In fact, many Trailerfest rallies intentionally include car shows or automotive events, creating a natural crossover that appeals to both crowds.

The largest and most organized of these is the San Dimas, California Rally, held each April. That event features a full-scale car show produced by the CAL-RODS Car Club, complete with trophies in several categories. Roughly 100 cars typically participate, making it a serious show in its own right.
What makes it even better is the timing: the car show takes place in conjunction with the trailer open house on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., allowing visitors to tour vintage trailers and admire classic cars all in one stop.

Other rallies embrace automotive culture in their own way. The South Lake Tahoe, California Rally in September includes a classic car cruise-in, adding motion and atmosphere to the weekend. Meanwhile, the Bethel Island, California Rally is planning to host a visiting car club on Saturday during its open house, giving attendees another opportunity to see trailers and classic cars side by side.

A Perfect Match
Events like the LA Roadster Show highlight just how naturally vintage trailers fit into the broader classic car world. Both celebrate craftsmanship, authenticity, and the joy of the open road—and when they come together, the result is something special.

Whether you came for the roadsters, the trailers, or the memories, one thing was clear: vintage style is alive and well—and it looks better than ever when it’s rolling in together.
