The teardrops 37” cabin width isn’t much room for more than one person. It’s very comfortable and is the perfect size for the Volksrod.
I have been a lightweight trailer fan for many years when I purchased a 40’s teardrop skeleton but it was so very heavy that I didn’t feel comfortable towing it behind Older VW Beetles.

Then, I purchased a Heilite single wheel camping trailer and soon after sold it. I purchased a small Wards single wheel trailer but, it was too small to sleep in. Next I purchased this trailer from the builder, Bob Riggs, from Sacramento in 2014. I had to rebuild the floor as it had been sitting out in the weather and the floor was ruined. I re-finished the sides, insulated it and repainted and pin striped. Its total weight is about 500lbs with a tongue weight of about 15lbs. It tows great, trails well with no weaving on it’s 15’ wheels with torsion bar axle. The frame is square tubing.

I purchased the teardrop mainly for attending VW events and Bluegrass Festivals. The cabin width is only 37” so, it isn’t much for more than one person. It is very comfortable and is the perfect size for my Volksrod roadster. I recently replaced the air cooled VW motor with one out of a Subaru Legacy. Main reason for swap was for towing the trailer. Driving in the mountains, towing a trailer gave me fear of overheating so the Subaru should take care of that. It truly is a head turner.
