Hannah Weber is the creative force behind Hannah’s Granny Crafts, a thriving handmade crochet business specializing in baby items and home decor. Based in a small Montana town, Hannah has officially been in business for four years—but her entrepreneurial journey began way back in the third grade when she started selling her creations in her mom’s gift shop. Today, she caters to busy women looking for high-quality, handcrafted gifts that are as thoughtful as they are beautiful. (This article was originally published 07/21)

For Hannah, being a business owner is everything. It allows her the freedom to build a life on her own terms—one of financial independence, flexibility, and creativity. Most importantly, it’s a path that will enable her to stay home with her future children while continuing to run a business she loves.

Her biggest inspiration? Her mom and grandma, or Grammy, as she affectionately calls her. Growing up surrounded by her mother’s businesses, Hannah saw firsthand both the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. It was this early exposure that gave her the confidence to take the leap herself. Grammy, another strong influence in her life, overcame many obstacles through sheer perseverance. In fact, Hannah’s business branding is based on Grammy’s legacy, a tribute to the resilience and hard work that runs in their family.

If there’s one piece of advice Hannah wants to share, it’s this: Just start. There will never be a perfect time, and you’ll never feel 100% ready—but taking that first step, no matter how small, is an accomplishment in itself. For Hannah, the simple act of launching her business was her biggest milestone, despite the fear and uncertainty that came with it.
Marketing her handmade crochet business has been all about consistency. She believes in simply showing up—on Instagram, Facebook, and anywhere her audience is. It doesn’t have to be perfect or meticulously planned; being present and engaging with customers makes all the difference.
One of the biggest lessons she’s learned as a small business owner is that failure isn’t as devastating as it feels in the moment. Some of her greatest successes have come directly from setbacks, and while she doesn’t love failure, she has learned to appreciate it for the growth it brings.

These days, Hannah is focused on refining the behind-the-scenes aspects of her business to make operations run smoother. She’s also working on expanding the number of retail locations carrying Hannah’s Granny Crafts products, with hopes of reaching stores across Montana and beyond.
When she’s not crocheting, you’ll likely find Hannah embracing the great outdoors. Living in the heart of Montana means easy access to the mountains, where she loves camping with her boyfriend and dogs, taking in the fresh air, and, of course, crocheting. She’s also an avid hunter and enjoys the endless adventures that small-town life has to offer.
If she were to write a book, it would be about just that—how running a business in a tiny town of around 300 people is anything but boring. It’s a lifestyle she cherishes and wouldn’t trade for the world.
