A Picture May Be Worth1,000 DOLLARS

…and you thought it was only worth 1,000 WORDS.

Investing in great photos of your trailer could make a difference in how much you sell your trailer for and how quickly you close a deal. If you are marketing your trailer online, potential buyers will make an emotional decision based on the images you post. You don’t have to be a professional photographer or have fancy equipment to take great photos. Wide-angle and fisheye lenses for your DSLR camera bodies can “open up’ an interior. These lenses also enable you to capture compelling, creative styles of photos because of the warping. Most important is that your images are focused and have good lighting. Cell phones have very capable cameras that automatically adjust to take great photos. Some models may even have add-on lenses available. You will almost always want to hold your camera sideways (horizontal) to take wider shots. You can also experiment with custom phone settings like .5 zoom on the iPhone. This setting will help you “cheat” a wide-angle lens.

These photos were taken with an iPhone with a .5 wide-angle setting. The “warping” creates interest and makes even this small wet bath look spacious.

Lighting Tips:
EXTERIOR: Best photographed at dawn, dusk, or on overcast days to eliminate shadows.
INTERIOR: Take advantage of natural lighting from outside and the natural glow of the trailer’s interior lights. If you are adding light, use diffused or indirect lighting.
