American Trailerites
Around 2009, we had two kids under three years old. Going camping seemed like a good idea to keep them busy and create some family memories. Our neighbors were selling their 1962 DeVille camper trailer, and I couldn't resist dragging it home. I purchased the trailer not because I thought it was cool but because it was cheap. We wanted to go camping, but we did not want to invest much money into a trailer. Not knowing if we would like the RVing lifestyle, an inexpensive, older trailer seemed good enough for us. As owners of classic cars, buying something old and fixing it up made sense to Caroline and me. The whole family was excited to go camping in our "new" old trailer, but we had no idea how that simple $500 purchase would change our lives in such a positive way, forever.
In 2011 we took a leap and started the The Vintage Camper Trailers Magazine, the first publication in the United States dedicated to rescuing, restoring and rallying with mid-century trailers of all shapes and sizes. The support of fellow hobbyists has been overwhelming! We have published The VCT Mag consecutively every other month ever since. We have written two books on the hobby and host some of the biggest and best rallies in the USA (www.trailerfestrally.com). We continue to restore trailers, and have a collection of several, including a 1959 Shasta Deluxe and a 1955 Spartan Manor among several other pre 1969 trailers and cars.

Had to have a pop-top camper van!
1954 Chevy 210 Delray
My baby. White tuck-n-roll, leopard skin and a mexican blankets interior! Of course the trunk has everything you need for a day camping trip (picnic). All vintage of course.
